Similarly, although it is well known to use phosphors to convert ultraviolet (UV) radiation from a lamp into visible radiation (i.e., yellow), the use of UV radiation is limited to the generation of blue light.
In a recent study in the U.S., the authors observed that a phosphor dispersed in a gel could produce light that was a mixture of blue, green, and yellow radiation, i.e., a white light. In the study, the authors inserted a tube filled with a photocurable gel that contains a phosphor into the headlamp of a driver of a vehicle.
